The grain whisky is initially light and fruity, finishing with some fudge and toffee notes The name of this whisky has nothing to do with coffee-rather, it’s named for a type of still invented by Aneas Coffey, which is used to make this golden spirit. Created from maize and malted barley in the Coffey stills of the Miyagikyo distillery, this gin, produced for the first time by Nikka, sees the addition of a large number of citrus fruit (yuzu, kabosu, amanatsu, hirami lemon) and juniper berries.
